There is so much to do in the area surrounding Villa Pampelonne. A week's holiday is actually too short to see everything.

São Martinho do Porto
Villa Pampelonne is located just outside the center of Sao Martinho do Porto. Here you will find the nearest supermarket and various restaurants. The coastal town of Sao Martinho do Porto is very popular among beach goers because of the shallow sea.
Beach
Due to the specific location of the bay, the beach and sea are always at a nice temperature and easily accessible to everyone. In the summer beach bars are rented and there is also a small playground. The beach is 15 - 20 minutes walking distance.
Óbidos
The medieval town of Óbidos is a 23-minute drive from the villa. This is a walled town on a rock where time seems to have stood still.
The narrow streets are cozy and offer plenty of shade and cooling during the summer. From the fortified city there is a beautiful view of the entire area.

The two-week medieval market in July is highly recommended. During this event there are horse shows, jugglers, minstrels and knights walking through the city, and medieval dishes are prepared.
Caldas da Rainha
The nearest town is "Caldas da Rainha". This place is known for its pottery and has been declared "the capital of Portuguese pottery" by the New York Times. A visit to one of the pottery shops is definitely recommended.

Every morning there is a market on "Praça da Republica" where farmers sell their harvest and other delicacies. You can also shop in the old center at well-known and local Portuguese shops. There are also plenty of cozy terraces.

Outside the center are hyper markets (large supermarkets) such as "Continente" and "Pingo Doce".
